Rude Red Robin
There's a rude red Robin in our garden
A normal bird eats worms and then he chirps
But this fat bird hasn't any manners
He gobbles up the worm and then he burps

What do ants eat, I said to my mother
What do ants eat, we said to each other
Do they eat mud or old mouldy cheese
Perhaps it's the fluff off of other ants knees

My little boy's called Harry
He says he's happily doodle-y
I have to keep a close eye
He can behave quite rudely
When we sit down to Chinese food
His clothes end up all noodle-y
But give him pens and paper
He's completely happily doodle-y

I should be in the treetops
Swinging wild and free
Showing off to hopeful mates
That's where I ought to be
They think I'm just an animal
To laugh at in this zoo
Thinks Fernando wistfully
As he picks through his poo

And I'm looking for a flower

Harry asked his mummy
Why do fingers grow?
And why are bees all stripy?
I really need to know
I've checked encyclopedias
I have no time for college
His mum said, go ask daddy
As he has all the knowledge
Harry went to find him
To seek these answers out
When he came back to find his mum
His face was filled with doubt
What did daddy say then
You look a little flustered
He said the black stripes marmite
And the yellow stripes are custard
And what about the fingers
Did daddy tell you that?
He said if fingers didn't grow
You'd never reach your hat

When I am lying in bed

It's not that I mind a big cuddle
After I hear the door close

Harry, it's not a dolphin, it's your fork
Stop hitting the radiator with it
And eat your tea

Fun away days
Sticking and glueing
And making up plays
Climbing on things
On slides and on swings
Cutting out crowns
For big queens and small kings
Building a den
A picnic and then
Off to the beach
For an ice cream or ten
The Sun lasts for ever
Daddy's so clever
He phoned up a man
To sort out the weather
Wherever we are
The fun's never far
But on the way home
We'll both sleep in the car
Time for a bath
We giggle we laugh
A zoo day tomorrow
Might see a giraffe
Stories then bed
Tucked in warm with ted
A kiss and a hug
